Purpose

The face scan feature provides users with a cosmetic skin wellness snapshot based on up to five user-provided facial images. It is intended solely for informational and cosmetic self-care purposes — not for diagnosing or treating any medical or dermatological conditions.

What We Assess

The system analyzes common visible skin attributes associated with cosmetic appearance, including:

• Acne & Texture
  
  

• Wrinkles
  
  

• Hydration
  
  

• Dark Circles
  
  

These categories are based on generally recognized cosmetic and wellness indicators (Baumann, Cosmetic Dermatology: Principles and Practice, 2009).

How the Score Works

Each area receives a score from 0–100, where higher values represent a visually estimated better condition for cosmetic wellness.

The overall skin score is calculated by averaging the four area scores and rounding to the nearest whole number.

Score Range

71–100 Excellent

51–70 Good

31–50 Fair

0–30 Poor

What Users Receive

• An overall skin score summary
  
  

• Per-area scores with brief, cosmetic self-care suggestions
  
  

• A limited set of product recommendations aligned with general skincare goals

Image Handling

• Accepts up to 5 standard facial images per analysis.
  
  

• Images are processed locally or securely on our servers for analysis and stored only to generate the user’s report.
  
  

• Users control deletion of their own data at any time.
  
  

Reliability and Safeguards

• Input validation ensures images meet minimum quality and format requirements.
  
  

• If analysis cannot be completed (e.g., poor lighting or occlusions), a neutral “insufficient data” result is displayed.
  
  

• Scores are approximate, non-clinical estimates derived from visible image patterns and not based on medical-grade imaging or diagnostic instruments.
  
  

Privacy

• Reports (scores, guidance, and image references) are securely stored in the user’s profile to enable progress tracking.
  
  

• No third party has access to user data.
  
  

• Data is used solely for the cosmetic skin analysis experience and is never shared or sold.
